About

Our Story

The first roller blinds, known as "Scotch Holland" blinds, emerged in Holland and Scotland in the early 1700s, made from stiffened linen that was manually rolled up and down, with a significant mechanical upgrade in 1864 when Stewart Hartshorn added the spring-loaded mechanism common today.

Today at Brackart we felt the industry needed another upgrade with a sleek modern yet classic and sophisticated new age roller blind collection. We look to path the way with our new cutting edge technology to speed up design & propel prototypes into production faster than ever before.

We started to play with 3d printing in resin plastic to speed up prototypes before moving onto CNC in aluminium to begin testing. We essentially developed three styles with our three design principles..

■ Simple.

●Smooth..

▼Complex…

These became our three styles with started as single roller blind brackets and progressed onto double roller blind brackets. At that point we finally named ourselves “BRACKART” a cross between bracket & art.
